CITRUS SERENADE ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR PAINTING
Citrus Serenade was painted in honor of summer while my soul desperately longed for autumn. My hope was to capture and savor these last moments of summer even though internally, I find myself saying, "autumn cannot come soon enough."
This original watercolor painting depicts a vibrant orange fruit hanging from its branch. The orange is painted in saturated oranges and yellows, with shadows of deep red and hints of turquoise. The leaves, painted with delicate lines and brushstrokes, reflect back some of the orange hues from the juicy fruit hanging below. The orange pops against the cobalt turquoise background. Looking at the painting, you can almost feel the bumpy skin and smell the sweet aroma wafting from the painting. The overall effect is a beautiful and serene representation of summer.
This is an original watercolor painting, created using Daniel Smith and Winsor and Newton Professional Grade Watercolors on Watercolor Paper mounted to a 1-1/2" cradle board. The edges of the cradle board are painted in the same cobalt turquoise color used in the background of the painting. The painting is mounted in a 1-1/2" Ampersand Floater Frame with a walnut finish. The painting is protected with a UV Archival Varnish with a Satin finish. This piece can be hung from a hook mounted on the back of the floater frame, or it can sit on a surface. While this painting was made using lightfast materials and is protected with a UV Archival Varnish, we recommend that this piece not be placed in direct sunlight in order to protect the longevity of this painting.
